No matter what, remember this experience is about you. Keep it simple. Wear clothing that is in good condition and fits good. If clothing is aged or worn, the camera can pick that up more than you think.
You will be a lot happier in something that fits comfortably. Understand your style. It might be a good idea to mix some 'traditional' outfits with trendy outfits to be sure you have some timeless looks in your portfolio.

- Very simple garments always photograph best.
- Some prints and patterns can be distracting as well as large logos
- Avoid very wide or particularly deep V-neck garments
- Long sleeves , long skirts, pants are a good suggestion, as bare arms and legs call attention to themselves and will overpower the face.
- If feet are to show in the portrait, make certain shoes and stockings are in keeping with the visual intent of the portrait.
- Medium to dark tones of brown rust, burgundy, green, or blue are pleasing choices when photographed against a dark background. Darker shades are more flattering and slimming.
- Light colors are appropriate against a white or pastel background.
- Medium shades complement outdoor environments.
- Accessories are F-U-N. Hats, scarfs, jewelry (bigger is better)
Couples or small groups proper clothing coordination is critical. Choose clothing in the same tonal ranges so that no single member of the group stands out because the clothing is too light or bright as compared to the rest of the group. Example: Everyone should wear dark jeans or all blue shirts. (Clothing does NOT have to match exactly, but if everything is in the same color scheme, it does look best).
